The novel "Beware of the dog" by the Thessaloniki writer Christodoulos DA A Lizerinou, which was awarded in the second pan-Hellenic novel competition of the Strange Days publications.

Beware of the dogThe novel takes place in a strange country that is very similar to ours without ever having the element of identification. Is this image of that country and the people who look like us even funnier? Is it more dramatic? I would say that it is just more literary and - in the hilarious tragedy that it weaves by composing literary genres and intertwining very familiar and completely imaginary images, dreams, few miracles and many traumas, it manages to present us at the same time the reality as it is, as it should not be. as we worry it will happen. Because this is the characteristic of every good book of every important literary work. To turn science or any other fantasy into reality. Sometimes admirable and sometimes painful. But always, as here in this book more true than most truths we know. From the truths that inform us απο from the truths that infuriate us, from the truths that immediately promise us the best days. But it goes a little further, where only literature can go. It goes even further than the truth - if there is such a thing - because the real writer must have an obligation to invent his own truth, his own way. When he is skilled he can create his own micro-world. This is done in the book of Christodoulos Litzerinos who stood out through hundreds of entries in the second novel competition and won the first and only prize.
