Bjørn Rasmussen was born in 1983 and graduated from the Danish School of Playwrights in 2007 and the Danish School of Writers in 2011. His book "The skin is the elastic pouch that surrounds the whole body" (Huden er det elastiske hylster der omgiver hele legemet), was honored with the Montana Literary Award in 2011 and in 2013 received a grant from the Danish government for a three-year literary work program. In 2014 he won the Kultur Bornholms Literary Prize and in 2016 the European Union Literary Prize. The book has already been translated into seven languages.
